There’s now an easier way to download and update your installed addons navigational database. Navigraphprovides a free FMS Data manager that scans your aircraft and other tools that may use this kind of updatable data.
Have you encountered the 'NAV DATA OUT OF DATE' message or want to know how to get updated navdata for your flight simulators and add-ons? Then you have come. FMS Data Manager - this is the preferred method especially for new users and multiple addons. Make sure X-Plane path is correct in Settings tab. Manual Installs - for experienced users and few addons. Click on FMS Data Manual Installation. Unzip (retaining paths) xplane11nativeYYYY.zip to your X-PLANE 11 Custom Data folder.
The existing method of access remains available, selecting and downloading one by one.

Today, together with the release of AIRAC cycle 1401, we are proud to announce a new service to our FMS Data offering the FMS Data Manager! It is a client program which updates FMS Data for installed addon software with an automatic download and install procedure. Special effort has been put towards making the software easy to operate. Many users will find that the setup procedure simply consists of two steps: 1) automatically scanning the computer for all installed addons, and 2) performing a batch update. The FMS Data Manager also has more advanced features to accommodate special setups. For instance, it can:
- Scan the computer to automatically detect and set paths for newly installed addons
- Confirm that all addons are updated through a clear display of green indicators
- Start with the computer and check for new FMS Data updates with set intervals
- Update all, or a subset, or the installed addons – individually or in batch
- Perform an automatic backup before downloading updated FMS Data
- Recover a previous backup from any previously downloaded cycle
- Verify that the downloaded data is intact
- Export/Import addon paths for a quick restore of manually added paths
All currently supported addon formats, except Project Magenta, are available via the FMS Data Manager, and more will be added as they become available. Project Magenta will be included shortly. All 57 addon formats, including Project Magenta, are also be available for manual installation via the Navigraph website for users who wish to continue updating FMS Data with the previous method at http://www.navigraph.com/FmsDataManualInstall.aspx.
Furthermore, Access Codes, which unlock services based on FMS Data on servers hosted by other developers, are also available via both methods. Currently, the FMS Data Manager is available in English for Windows desktop platforms, but extensive language support, as well as support for Mac and Linux, is expected soon.
To use the FMS Data Manager, one needs a Navigraph user account with access to either a single cycle of FMS Data or a 4 or 13cycle subscription. One year ago, in January 2013, Navigraph changed FMS Data provider to Jeppesen. This has resulted in greater geographical coverage and an overall improved data quality. However, while the data is detailed and current, the FMS Data is compiled explicitly for ground based personal computer simulators and must not be used for real world navigation.”
